It’s easiest to use two of the precut straight edges to align it. Then tape the drawing to a piece of black foam board. Cut the template along the foot and hand edges at a 90 degree angle. Obviously this template is for personal use only.ģ. Then I scanned them and scaled them in photoshop to create this template. When I did this, I drew the superheroes myself after looking at a bunch of images online and creating my own mishmash. Print out one copy of the superhero template (click on the link to open the image in another window and print the jpg). So I ran a squiggly line of hot glue along the bottom edges to keep it from sliding around.Ģ. I found that mine didn’t have anything grippy on the bottoms so they were slipping on the shelf. Metal bookends (I actually think these would work better than the ones I used)ġ. Right?) Anyway, these are going to look so cute (I’m sorry, I mean tough, they’re going to look super tough) on O’s shelf! Here’s how I did it: Sure… (I don’t want to get sued though so let me point out that I have actually made a “very strong superhero” and a “nocturnal superhero” they’re definitely not Superman and Batman. Batman movie coming out soon, these are perfect!” Um, yeah, I totally planned that. Anyway, I made these bookends, completely oblivious to the outside world, and then showed them to my husband who said, “Oh, that’s cool! It’s good timing there’s that Superman vs. And we definitely don’t do superhero play on playdates anymore due to some “flying practice” incidents (not dangerous just too loud and crazy). Although I will say we had to “take a break” from superheroes for a little bit due to some, um, less than calm behavior. O hasn’t come home from school yet but he is going flip because he is a major superhero fanatic. And that turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I love these so much. I had originally planned to make them an entirely different way but I couldn’t find the supplies I needed without it being expensive. You guys! These superhero bookends turned out so cute! I had them in my mind for a looong time. Let these tough superhero bookends use their super strength to hold up your books!
